Fly a Kite
Being so close to Lake Michigan, a few hours of play on the lakeshore seemed like a good starting point for our date night in Pleasant Prairie. We started with kite flying action at the Prairie Shores Beach. This park was located between two beaches, easily accessible from the road and free to visit. This marked our first time flying a kite together and it was more difficult than we thought it would be – but a great time once we got our kite soaring high.
Go Mini Golfing
We wanted to spend a bit more time outside so after the park we went to Pineway Golf Course to swing, roll and putt our troubles away via a round of mini golf.

This 9-hole mini golf course opened in 2022 so grab a putter and your lover and head on over for a round. Landing a hole in one on this course is a fun challenge and no easy feat but for $5 each you can test your skills and luck. Hours of operation for mini golf are the same for all of Pineway. We recommend checking out the website for hours or sending them a quick email to double check before going over. Gift shop with fun merch and driving range were open too when we did putt-putt.
Pro Tip: If you want to play another 9 holes after your first 9, you can do so for only $1 more!
Have a Wisconsin Foodie Experience
As the day winded down, we found ourselves dining at Milwaukee Burger Company for some 100% grade-A Wisconsin eats & drinks. Meals here were super-sized and we loved it. With mouth-watering eats and exceptional service, this is a stand-out restaurant to show some love to in Pleasant Prairie. If you’re looking for classic Wisconsin items, may we suggest: Bloody Mary’s & Cheese Curds. For fellow vegetarians out there, there is plenty for you to enjoy here as well. All burgers, including the impossible (V) burger, are divine.
Pro Tip: The Fair Curds are a must-try appetizer for a true Wisconsin foodie experience!
Play Pull Tabs
We kept the laidback vibes going and the drinks flowing at the super-inviting local bar called the Wooden Nickel. If you have never tried pull tabs before, this is the place to give it a go. Be prepared to enjoy casual conversation with fellow patrons and a cozy atmosphere. There is also a jukebox inside in case you feel up for a dance or two along with a pool table and dart board.
